Create Magnetic Media Submission File 1099R
This process is used to create 1099 R electronic submission files. If you have printed out the 1099 R form (red preprinted form) of the 1099 R and will be mailing them with a 1096 form, there is no need to create an electronic file.
NAVIGATION: UTILITIES menu > Utilities > Create Submission Files > 1099R Submission File > Quick Links > Create File
- Company Information
- Enter missing company information and review information that is shown for errors.
- Company Name: Enter or review the company name.
- Address: Enter or review the company address.
- City, State and Zip Code: Enter or review the city, state and zip code for the company.
- Fed ID (No Dashes)
- Review, edit or enter the companies Federal identification number.
- Do not enter a hyphen between any of the numbers.
- The number should be one continuous number with no breaks.
- Contact: Enter the name of the contact person for the company.
- Phone Number: Enter the phone number for the contact person.
- Email Address: Enter the email address for the contact person.
- File Parameters
- Tax Year: Enter the four digit tax year in a yyyy format.
- TCC: Enter your TCC code.
- Name Control: Enter a name control for the company.
- File Information: File Name
- Enter the path to a drive/folder and enter a name, of not more than 8 characters, for the file you are creating ending the name in .txt.
- For example: C:\ThisFolder\99name.txt
- Create File
- Click the Create File button on the Quick Links bar to create a 1099 R file for submission.
- When the file has been created an information box with "File Created" will be displayed.
- Click OK.
- The information box will go away but the program will remain open for creation of another submission file if needed.
- If you have entered incorrect drive/folder path information the process will still return a File Created information box.
- If you cannot find your file, verify your drive/folder path and create the file again.
