Process Adjustments
Adjustments are used primarily to record debit memos needed to offset against unapplied 835 or cash payments that related to items not billed through the system, i.e., base funding payments or cash payments from consumers.
Adjustment Entry
NAVIGATION: RECEIPTS/835 menu >Adjustments > Adjustment Entry
- In the DOCUMENT TYPE section, select ADJUSTMENT.
- In the PAYOR INFORMATION section:
- Select the payor, typically PROMISe
- Select the sub account (consumer the entry applies to).
- In the ADJUSTMENT INFORMATION section:
- Enter the amount
- Select the receivable group
- Enter the date of the payment
- Type a comment for the adjustment. Include the check number if possible.
- In the GL INFORMATION section:
- Select the GL account the adjustment applies to. The GL account description will appear. Press tab.
- Type the amount of the adjustment.
- Click in the payor field.
- Click SAVE.
Adjustment Edit List
NAVIGATION: RECEIPTS/835 menu >Adjustments > Adjustment Edit List
- In the CODE SELECTION section, select the receivable group using the browse button.
- In the DISPLAY ORDER section, choose the display order you prefer (by document or payor).
- Place a check mark in the NOTIFY box and click the RUN REPORT icon.
- If the edit list is accurate, proceed to posting the cash receipts.
- If the report is not accurate, go back to the entry area and make any necessary corrections.
Post Adjustments
NAVIGATION: RECEIPTS/835 menu >Adjustments > Post Adjustments
- In the CODE SELECTION section, select the appropriate Receivable Group using the browse button.
- Place a check mark in the NOTIFY box and click the POST icon.
- Once the adjustment has been posted, go to the PAYMENT APPLICATIONS to apply the payment to an open claim in the system.
