How to Change Head of Household for Public Housing

Go to Maintain>>Tenants (Active)

• Tab to Last Name field and enter the tenant's last name.  Select the tenant from the list.

• If the file is in "read only" mode go to Quick Link>>Unlock Tenant File.  Select a Tracking Code and/or enter a modified description and click Save

• Enter the Effective Date of change

• Select the Action

• Double click on Member 01 from the front screen

• Change the "Relation to Head" if Member 01 is still in the household.  If Member 01 is leaving the Household, change the Status to "Inactive".  Note the social security number.

• Save the changes

• Click on the browse button beside "Member #" and select the new head

• Change the "Relation to Head" to Head

Click the Demographics tab

• Enter the previous head's social security number in Prior Head Soc-Sec #

• Click Save

• Close the Household Composition view and return to Tenant Master (Active)

• Go to Quick Link and select Renumber/Update Tenant File

• From the main Tenant master screen, change the Last and First Name to the new Head of Household information

• Create a 50058 (go to Quick Link>>Create 50058 Record)

• Click Save

• If the tenant's file is in "Edit Mode", go to Quick Link>>Lock Tenant File to return the file to "Read Only" mode
