Auto Complete

Some programs have an auto complete feature where typing part or all of the field information will display results based on the information typed in.  For example:  Typing part or all of a last name in the Tenant Management program will display a list of tenants based on the last name entered.  Users may select the tenant from the list of tenants.

Browse Boxes, Drop Down Menu etc.

You may activate a drop down menu, browse view, or lookup view by:

Once the drop down menu, browse view or lookup view is active you may type in your selection.  The search engine will shift the data to the closest match.  Use the mouse or arrow keys to select the information you want from the list.

Column headers may be clicked to change the display order.  For example:  clicking on a column header titled "Last Name" would change the display order to last name order.

The greater than symbols (>>) may be displayed in front of either number or name to show which field has the focus for searching, to change the focus click on the other heading bar.  Some browse boxes have a searching feature even though the >> symbols are not displayed.

Once a selection is made the browse or drop down menu will close.

Date Selector

Click on the square button to the right of the date field to activate a calendar from which you may select the appropriate date for the field.

Dates may also be entered manually in a mmddyy or mmddyyyy format.

 

Browse for a file

Activate the browse function by clicking on the to the right of the field.  This will bring up the browser.  Click the down arrow to the right of the Look In field to bring up folders and drives where the file may be located.

Select the drive/folder combination where the needed file is saved.

 

Increment Numbers

Use the up and down arrow keys at the end of the field to add or subtract numbers in the field.
