Go to Maintain>>Tenants Active>>Quick Link>>Household Composition or click on a member in the Household Composition Window/Grid to bring up the Household Composition program with the member's information displayed.

The Household Composition Quick Link menu provides links to the following programs:
The tenant name and number from the Tenant Master (Active) header will be displayed in red (read only), green (edit mode), black (program is not using enhanced edit and the file can be changed) or blue (an archived copy is open). The header information may not be changed in this area.
Member information is entered or displayed in this area.
When the Household Composition program is opened from the Window/Grid in the Tenant Master (Active) program the member's information that was clicked upon will be displayed.
Enter or select an existing member number if a member is not already selected.
To enter a new member this field may be left blank to allow the system to assign the member number for the new entry when saved.
If member numbers are incorrect run the Renumber/Update Tenant File program from the Tenant Master (Active) Quick Link Menu.
For an existing member the last name will be displayed.
The tenant's last name from the Tenant Master will automatically be entered as the default name for a new entry. If the new member has a different last name, remove or overwrite the default name and enter the correct last name. If a Head of Household's name is changed, it must be updated in the Tenant Master file as well.
For an existing member their first name will be displayed. If the Head of Household's first name is changed, it must also be updated in the Tenant Master header.
When entering a new member enter their first name in this field.
For an existing member their middle name will be displayed. If the Head of Household's middle name is entered or changed, the Tenant Master header record must be updated as well.
When entering a new member enter their middle name or initial in this field.
For an existing member the relationship code already assigned will be displayed. The code/information may be edited.
When entering a new member select an appropriate relationship code. You may enter the code to pull up the relationship information.
For Example:
If you enter a L the L-Live-In-Aide relationship code will fill in. You will not need to do the drop down/select process.
Relationship codes are as follows:
C - Child - Other Youth Under 18
E - Full-Time Student 18+
F - Foster Child/Foster Adult
H - Head
Note: If Head is selected for a new household member under the age of 18 an alert message will be displayed when the record is saved. Press Yes to save or No to edit the record.
K - Co-Head
L - Live-In-Aide
O - Other Adult
S - Spouse
For an existing member, Male or Female will be displayed.
When entering a new member you may select male or female from the drop down list or enter an M or F to enter the information.
The J-Stat is only displayed when a Relation To Head code of C or E is selected and only applies to 59 properties and should haver no affect in a 58 property. The J-Stat field controls whether or not a household would receive a child deduction when there is a joint custody agreement. Select one of the following options:
C Custody Option - Dependent whose custody is jointly shared by more than one family but who does not receive a dependant allowance and lives in the unit less than 50% of the time. Such a person's child care expenses count toward the child care allowance.
CK Custody Option - Dependent whose custody is jointly shared by more than one family and lives in the unit 50% or more of the time. Count for unit size and income limit purposes.
JK Custody Option - Dependent whose custody is jointly shared by more than one family and who receives a dependent allowance along with a child care allowance where applicable.
No Joint Custody - A dependent that is assumed to be a full-time resident of the unit.
For an existing member the social security number previously entered will be displayed.
When entering a new member enter the social security number without dashes. The system will display the social security number with the dashes.
For an existing member the previously entered date of birth will be displayed.
Enter or select a new member's date of birth in a mmddyy or mmddyyyy format. There is no need to enter the slashes, the slashes will be shown when the field is tabbed out of.
The system will calculate and update this field as needed.
Select a member status as one of the following:
Active
Inactive
Pending
Enter an email address for the member if available.
This window/grid will display any previously entered income or asset information for the member.
When information is shown in the window/grid, the Income or Asset Information programs may be opened by double clicking on a displayed entry. The Income or Asset Worksheet must be opened from the Household Composition>>Quick Link menu when no information is shown in the window.
Use the scroll bars to the right and bottom of the window to see additional information.
The following information is displayed for any income or asset that has been entered:

The deduction window/grid will display previously entered deduction information for the member.
When information is shown in the window/grid, the Deduction Information program may be opened by double clicking on a displayed entry. When no information for deductions is shown in the window, the Deduction Worksheet must be opened from the Household Composition>>Quick Link menu.
Use the scroll bars to the right of the window to see additional lines if needed.
The following information is displayed for any deduction that has been entered:

Enter, view or edit the birth place for the household member.
If the head of household has changed for a tenant family, enter the prior head's social security number in this field for the new head of house. This field and the Previous HOH fields are also used for some programs when a Head of Household's name or SSN is corrected or changed.
If the head of household SS # has not been changed or corrected, leave this field blank. This only applies if the information has already been submitted on a 50059 or 50058.
Select one of the following elderly status codes:
62 or Older
Disabled/Handicapped (please use the disability check box on the Needs/Service tab for Elderly members)
Near Elderly
Non-Elderly
Survivor of Qualifier
Enter or select one of the following:
Eligible Citizen
Eligible Noncitizen
Ineligible Noncitizen
Not Selected
Pending Verification
This field becomes available for all Citizenship classifications except Eligible Citizen.
When this field is available enter the member's alien number.
Enter or select one of the following:
Yes
No
Pending
Exempt
Enter a comment regarding the member's community service in this field if applicable.
Check the following fields that apply:
White
Black/African American
American Indian/Alaska Native
Asian
Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific
Race Unspecified
Enter or select one of the following:
Hispanic
Non-Hispanic
Not Reported
Check this box if race/ethnicity was not reported by the member and the information was filled out based on employee observations.
Check this box if the member is disabled.
Enter comments regarding the members special needs for the disability, if applicable.
Check this box if the member has applied for disability benefits.
Enter the type of disability benefits the member has applied for, if any.
Enter when the member applied for disability benefits, if applicable.
Enter a check mark in one or more of the following disabilities:
Check this box if the member was in the armed forces.
Enter the term of service for the member.
Enter which military branch the member served in, i.e. army, navy, coast guard, etc.
Enter the member's grade in school if applicable. Enter 99 if the member is a college student or community college student.
Check this box if the member is over 18 and considered a full time student.
If the member is a student enter the name and address of the school.
To verify disability information enter the name and address where verification letters/forms are to be sent.
If the member does not report any violations, this page may be skipped.
Check this box if the member has reported criminal violations.
In the areas provided enter information for one or two criminal violations.
Enter the location of the records for each conviction entered.
Enter the name, if any, of the probation officer for the member.
Check this box if the member reports that they have been known by another name.
Enter the explanation as reported by the member for the additional name.
Check this box if the member reports a marital status of "married".
Enter or select the number of times the member has reported to have been married.
Enter the maiden name of the member, if any.
Enter the following information for up to three previous marriages:
Name
Enter the From and To dates for the marriage
Select a Status for the marriage of Divorced, Separated or Widowed
Enter the previous spouse's Social Security #
Address
Check all skills shown that apply for the member.
Note:
Skills may also be added for members in Section 3 Member Update. Additional skills may be setup in Tenant Management Settings on the Section 3 Setup tab.
Absentee information may be left blank if it does not apply for the member.
Enter the name, Social Security number and address for a missing parent or spouse of the member.
In the relation field enter how the absentee person is related to the member.
Enter the Last Contact date for the absentee person.
Some programs require the following information when the head of house is changed or to correct head of household information:
If you have made this member the new head of household, enter the previous head of household's information in this area.
If you are correcting the existing head of household's last name, date of birth or social security number enter the information that you are correcting into these fields.
Note: The Social Security Number for a previous Head of Household is entered on the Demographics tab
Fill in the following information to correct this member's information as the current Head of Household or enter the previous head's information in the following fields:

This area is available for users to enter text information regarding the member.
Type information for the member in the note window.
